Trip to Pink City- Jaipur

Students went on a Jaipur tour on day 3. The tour started with a visit to the famous Amer Fort. The group reached the fort in a bus from where they were put in jeeps in groups of six with a teacher accompanying them. The fort was very imposing and had a lot to tell about the lives of the people and the rulers of Jaipur. It held a panoramic view to the city below. The guide explained about the halls which were used for public meetings, the palace of the rulers where important decisions were taken, the mahal where the queens stayed and the winter and summer wings of the palace.
Amber Fort is located in Amer in Jaipur. It is one of the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill. Amber Fort was built by Raja Man Singh I. Amber Fort is known for its artistic style, blending both Hindu and Rajput elements.
Diwan-e-Aam or the ‘Hall of Public Audience’ is a beautiful hall stands on two rows of ornamented pillars and opens on three sides. It is said that king used to listen about needs and complaints of General public. ‘Diwan e-Khaas’ or the ‘Hall of Private Audience’ has delicate mosaic work in glass. In this hall, king used to meet special guests from other states, ministers, and his friends.
The Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) is the most famous and beautiful part of Amber Fort.
