A Trip to the Kidson's Home!

Field trips offer an opportunity for students to get exposure to "real" people and events and the opportunity to make connections with others.
Teaching and learning can become an inherently spontaneous and student- centered when moved from the confines of the classroom into the world at large.
Students of Grade 3A got an opportunity to meet a wonderful lady, Ms Anle Kidson and got to know about the culture of South Africa, challenges and the effects of migration that she faced during and after her migration. We had a very interactive session and could get most of our queries answered.
Some of the questions asked by children:
1. Why did you come to India? Is it a push or pull factor?
2. What type of food do you eat at your birthplace?
3. Are you an immigrant or emigrant?
4. What are the challenges and risks that you faced?
Ms Anle Kidson answered the queries with utmost patience and the way she organized the session was really appreciable. She prepared a tri-fold brochure for all the children with the information about South Africa along with e-links.
When the time came for us to leave, Ms Kidson surprised us with a scrumptious treat!
Thank you Ms Kidson for the wonderful time spent at your home!
