Teacher’s Reflection: Young Entrepreneurs in Grade 4A Mart

Students of Grade 4A planned meticulously and executed the summative task which was given to them. They got the finance from the Principal, Ms. Adilakshmi. They started advertising about their market place and invited the teaching, non-teaching, and admin departments for the event.

On the day of the market, children displayed their sale items on the counters at 9:30 AM for the customers (PYP Primary students) who were already waiting to buy things. Students at the cash counter showed the menu card and the customers chose their products.  The sellers (students) were waiting to serve the customers with a smile. Students were happy to see the crowd waiting to buy the products — they were sold out completely by 10:45 AM.

The Mart was closed and we had to check if we profited. To everyone’s surprise, the students made a good profit. As decided, the profit will be going to charity. I, the class teacher, was just a spectator to check if the students were using the skills and concepts learnt during the Inquiry. Hats off to Grade 4A students!!
