Pictures Speak a Thousand Words!!


In Grade PP 2A, a story called ‘The Crow and Old Woman’ was played. Children watched the story and reflected on it by drawing pictures and also narrated the story later. As the students are too young to frame sentences, they drew pictures to narrate the story. This was a good activity to promote creativity and imagination.

Grade 2B Activity: We Break Numbers

The word fraction actually comes from the Latin “fractio” which means to break. Our ongoing topic in math is fractions. Class 2B children had a group activity on fractions. Class was divided into groups and for each group separate concept was given from the same chapter. Main aim in this activity was to provide them a chance to gain teamwork experience. They took it as a challenge and made the group activity a success and said “We love to break numbers.”

Survey Time: Grade 4A Activity

Students of Grade 4A conducted a survey to find out how we depend on people from other places in connection with their line of inquiry “Ways we depend on people from other places”. They were given 17 minutes to complete their task. The information brought to the class was shared with each other through “Doughnut” activity. Sharing and discussion lead to the term “Trading”.

Grade 4A Newspaper Activity

Students of Grade 4A used the newspaper to find out information related to trading and the reason for trading. Each group collected 1 or 2 articles and shared why they chose that piece. This session was very interactive as the students got to know that we trade for many reasons like needs, quality, quantity, things required to make a product etc.

Visual Art Results of Cultural Carnival — Expressing through Art!

Competitions in drawing and painting, paper collage and clay modeling were conducted as a part of Cultural Carnival 2014. Grades IV – IX participated in this event.  Students were eagerly awaiting the results which were announced in the morning assembly. The prizes would be given away on the Prize Day in the presence of the whole school.
