Anti-bullying Week @ Einstein Campus: Grade IVB Presentation

As a part of the anti-bullying week, IVB graders presented assembly with the same theme. They read out a story on bullying and appealed to students to stay away from bullying. Students read out interesting facts about bullying and also made posters to the same effect. Let’s all hope that the efforts of the junior students do not go waste and the message against bullying is loud and clear.

These are some of the facts presented by the students:

1.      Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year.
2.      1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4 percent of the time.
3.      Approximately 1, 60,000 teens skip school every day because of bullying.
4.      1 in 7 students in grades K-12 is either a bully or a victim of bullying.
5.      56 percent of students have personally witnessed some type of bullying at school.
6.      Over two-thirds of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective.
7.      90 percent of 4th to 8th graders report being victims of bullying.
8.      1 out 10 students drop out of school because of repeated bullying.
9.     Physical bullying increases in elementary school, peaks in middle school and declines in high school.
