Sports Day

The senior school sports day of Oakridge Einstein Campus was held on 31st August 2013.  The break of dawn on 31st August 2013 promised to bathe everyone involved in the bright sunshine of glory and success. It was a special and a memorable event for the staff, students and the parents as the celebration propelled every student to be the best he/she can be with an uncanny ability to raise to the occasion.

Parents were seen reaching the school in large numbers to encourage their own wards as well as other contestants who stood in the field with dreams in their eyes and fire in their bellies. The arrival of the Principal Ms. Adi lakshmi as the chief guest raised the spirits of one and all and added much charm to the occasion. She was escorted by the school head boy and the head girl.

This was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial torch and being carried by Avantika Singh, School Sports Capitan.  It was further passed on to the deputy sports captain Rishi who further passed on to the other torch bearers and finally taken over by Abhiram, the school head boy who in turn handed over the torch to the principal Ms. Adilakshmi.

Further the event commenced with a march past by all the senior school students according to class wise being led by the Sports Captain and the Deputy Sports Captain along with other athletic champions, each leading one class amidst the energetic, vibrant and enthusiastic drum beat. Watching the students march ahead in perfect synchronization was a treat to the eye.

Later the whole school was immersed in the mesmerizing and a motivating song sung by Chandralekha of grade 11 and her team.  It really filled every participant with a motivating and sportsmanship spirit.

After this, the Sports Captain of the school, Avantika Singh administered the oath to all the participants, thus instilling a feeling of camaraderie among all, which followed by the declaration of the meet open by the principal Ms. Adilakshmi who motivated and inspired the students with her enlightening speech in which she stated that sportsmanship is knowing that it is a game, that we are only as good as our opponents, and whether you win or lose, to always give 100 percent and not to give up but persevere for more glory in future.

Before the events started the 9th graders (Manasa, Priya and Vasavi) gave an exciting performance which filled the hearts of everyone with lots of pleasure and excitement for the events that followed.  There were 100 metres race, relays, mixed relay and team games in which the students from same class but different sections competed with each other. The 100 meter race for the fathers and the 50 meter race for the mothers was really a sparkling event enjoyed by everyone and an exciting moment for the children who were encouraging their parents in winning the event.

After completion of the athletic events, proud winners were honoured by the Principal, Vice Principal and the winning parents with medals, trophies and certificates. The little sports stars with shining bright faces flaunted their trophies and gained appreciation and thunderous applause from one and all.
