Junior Achiever award of the National Robotic Championship- 13

Selected students of grades VII to IX of OIS Einstein campus qualified as Zonal winners and participated in the first ever National Robotics competition conducted by IIT Mumbai in collaboration with AIESEC and NRC India, on 13 April 2013.
 They competed with 72 groups of engineering students from across the country. The criteria for the competition included,
·         Programming and reprogramming the Bot for different racing tracks.
·         Tuning the Sensor and adding additional sensors.
·         Team Work and Winning attitude

The students competed with the engineering graduates and emerged in third position. Paul Umareddy and Nikhil P of IX A  were awarded the Junior Achiever award of the National Robotic Championship- 13.

Excitement in experiments

Grade 1A had an exciting session with Mr. & Mrs. Rohit, parents of Tanishka. They demonstrated few experiments to show and explain the different properties of Air to our students. They enhanced the understanding of the concept of relationship of air with other elements.
Overall, it was a great presentation and grade 1A is thankful for the wonderful guest lecture.

Air exerts Pressure

Zara, grade 1A student came up with an experiment to show how air exerts pressure by using an empty plastic bottle and water. She poked some holes at the bottom of the bottle and filled it with water till two thirds of its length. When she opened the lid, the water flowed out from the holes in tiny streams and when she secured the lid, the water did not flow out. By that, she concluded “Air exerts Pressure”. Kids were very excited to see the experiment and it was a wonderful experience for all of us.

In connection to their 2nd line of Inquiry “Reasons behind telling the story” students had displayed their understanding through various role-plays.
They presented the stories in a very beautiful manner by introducing the characters, showing the right emotions throughout the play and ending it with a moral message.
Surely these little students have the treasure inside.

Pot Painting - Activity Showcase

Pot painting is an ancient art form.  This type of artistic expression is deeply rooted in cultural history and painting pottery is an effective way to express ourselves and create beautiful pieces in the process. Painting turns plain pots into eye-catching containers. Painting clay pots is the kind of craft that can be adapted to fit a variety of skill levels.
Students of grades IV and V participated in the activity show case and beautifully painted the pots with floral designs, geometrical designs, warli painting and creative painting

Students learned how to prepare the model of a hut using Paper glasses and were able to identify the materials used to build a hut. Students were later asked to do a model of a building using materials that are easily available at home such as cardboard.
