New Year Resolutions

New Year's Eve has always been a time for looking back at the past, and more importantly, forward to the coming year. Every month, students from Grade IIB set their personal goals and work on those to achieve; this time, they wrote their New Year resolutions. Before making their resolutions, we had a small discussion on individual accomplishments. 

Later, we discussed about self-discipline and value of making goals to get benefit from making New Year resolutions. We all are looking forward to accomplish our resolutions.

Chairman’s Cup for the month of December was conducted successfully and students participated with enthusiasm and interest. It was a well-organized competition which saw students involve themselves in research and presentation. Ishvi Mathai of Grade IVB participated in the Sakshi India Spell Bee 2013 conducted by India Spell Bee and stood as the Zonal Finalist. It was a competition conducted by the Sakshi group in which several students from all the schools participated.

My First Experience — Truly Bringing out the Treasure Within

Here at Oakridge, we feel proud to inform that even teachers are provided a good platform to explore in different aspects. Can any one class take the challenge to show our Exhibition Journey through movie maker for next week's blog posting? This was the open challenge to all the PYP teachers from Coordinator. 

I had an opportunity to explore myself in this aspect. This is the first time that I tried exploring the functions of a movie maker and I succeeded in creating one for my class. I have shared the link of our Exhibition Journey. Have a look and enjoy!!

Sports and Games

Learners learn in many ways to express their understanding. Play helps to express feelings and ideas which lead to various understandings. The current Unit ‘Sports and Games’ was taken as the theme for the Exhibition by the students of PP1B. The class was set up with various centers and resources.   Children explored the different roles of different players. Children and parents had a lot of fun in participating in these activities and learning the importance of sports.

Christmas is the best time to spread happiness and love with the people around you. Students of PP1B on the occasion of Christmas brought smiles on the faces of their friends by sharing gifts with each other. They sang melodious songs, decorated the Christmas tree and enjoyed the cake.
