Field Trip to NIN

Grade II students visited NIN (National Institute of Nutrition) on the 18th of July. It was a sensory experience that is perfect for enhancing and extending of the nutrition education activities. The nutrition expert warmly welcomed the students and presented a PPT on food groups. She explained different levels of food groups and their benefits. She also explained in detail the difference between junk and healthy food which was supported by pictures.
She also addressed students' questions:
why should we eat vitamins and minerals?
Should we eat all the food groups?
Why there are different food groups?

Later students visited the Nutrition Museum which gave them a more bigger picture of the consequences of choices. They watched the pictures and asked questions about them and did some fact findings. Students realized that it is very important to eat healthy food and take care of themselves to avoid diseases.

It was a wonderful experience for the students. It was a successful trip with a wonderful team work by everyone.
