Our Visit to Hospital

Students of PP1 went for a field trip to 'Varsha Multispeciality Dental Clinic', in relation to their ongoing theme 'Community Helpers'.

Kids found it to be a good experience. Dr. Anjani explained about various medical equipments. The kids had the experience of sitting on the dental chair and viewing their teeth on the computer. They were explained by the doctor of dental hygiene they need to follow, like how to brush their teeth, what kind of food is good for their teeth. Overall it was a very informative and educative visit for the children. Children presented a Thank You card to the doctor made by them.

We thank Mrs. Anjani, parent of Saharsh and Shishir for her support.

Child reflection:

Happy Chinese New Year!

The sweet little ones of Nursery, PP1 and PP2 started their day on 23rd January 2012 with warm wishes for Chinese New Year. All of them gathered together to have grand gala celebration. Colorful costumes, art work and role play of dragon made the whole environment lively. An attractive PPT presentation by Leeza, Nursery teacher and an informative guest lecture by our PP2 parent helped the children to become more knowledgeable about the reason and ways it is celebrated. As 2012 is a dragon year, the children of PP2 presented a dragon dance too. Srikruthi of PP1 presented a colorful dragon craft to our guest. The Korean children of our school from different grades also joined us for the festivities. In the end, free dance by children around a big dragon mask mesmerized all of us. Happy Chinese New Year to one and all!

The program was for the VIII and IX graders to enable and equip them with knowledge on the entrepreneur functioning.

The students kept the speakers busy with their questions like ”What is entrepreneurship?” "What kind of academic requirement does one needs to achieve to take up entrepreneurship?", etc. Every speaker had valuable information on the questions asked which will help our students with a clarity on the field. Book Fair

The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it. - James Bryce

To justify this thought, we oaganised a book fair to provide opportunity for Oakridgers to buy latest publications with attractive offers. By collaborating with Scholastic publication, a book fair was organised for 3 days from 19th Jan to 21st Jan, where students could choose the books and buy them on the last day of the fair with parents, who came to the school for PTM.

During these three days students were very excited about choosing books and calculating the amount. The reason behind it was that most of the students were willing to pay from their pocket money and were also very much curious about books their friends were choosing, so that they could exchange and get to read lots of them. It was a nice feeling to see students having good thoughts about sharing and budgeting.
