Little Ones being International

The tiny tots of PP1 and PP2 invited their parents for the ‘Profile Day' celebration. The event marks the importance of being International by inculcating and implementing profile attributes so as to become a global citizen. The learners worked on the theme ‘nature’ and tried to explore, learn and depict the profiles of the animals and the nature around them. It was a purely imagination based show which also took into consideration the common beliefs about the animals.

The event kicked off with a sweet welcome note and some insights into the day-to-day classroom transactions related to being international by IB-PYP Coordinator Ms Mubeen Safura. Our Principal, Mrs. C Adilakshmi also enlightened the parents about the true meaning of being international.

This was followed by a dramatic musical show where an Oakridge teacher took a few learners for the field trip to a forest and met different animals who speak about their profile attributes which were Inquirer, Thinker, Communicator, Balanced, Knowledgeable, Caring, Risk-taker, Open-minded, Principled and Reflective. Beautiful tree, mountain, flower, honey-bee, butterfly and peacock also shared their views on profile attributes. The show ended with vote of thanks presented by Ms Dhanvanty.

After this the parents were involved in a personalized activity where they identified the most prominent profile of their child and depicted and narrated the evidences in support of it. Thus the day ended with lot of appreciation by parents who acknowledged the Oakridge family for putting put a great show and also enhances their understanding about being International.
