World Peace Day

In the midst of chaos, disturbances due to bandh calls, little ones of Oakridge International School, Einstein Campus demonstrated the need of peace throughout the world and celebrated ‘World Peace Day’. International Peace Day falls on September 21st but irony is that Hyderabad was not peaceful during that period and we had to reschedule our celebrations. On 22nd October, 2011 children of grades PP1 to III gathered in the lawn. The event started with a warm welcome to our curricular coordinator Ms. Sylaja and our guest parent Ms. Kanchana Aravapalli by presenting bouquets. Then the tiny tots of PP1 and PP2 came on the stage and presented a role play depicting a classroom conflict and its resolution. It was followed by an interactive session by the guest who shared some beautiful quotes on peace. Children of Grades I to III brought up the burning issue of bandhs and its impact on peoples’ lives through a small role play. It was widely appreciated by the spectators. Dance and Music are impressive ways of expression and the ‘Peace Dance’ by Grade II children proved it again. The highlight and the last item in the kitty was a ‘Peace Song’ which left the audience enchanted. Thus the whole event was very successful and spread the message of peace.
