The Language of Dance

The National Dance Day was celebrated with pomp and grandeur at OIS, Einstien campus. Students showcased glimpses of different dance forms of India. A dance museum displaying pictures of different dance forms, costumes and the props used in various national dances of India caught everyone's eyes. Mrs Yashoda Thakore, a renowned kuchipudi dancer, graced the occasion and appreciated the initiative by the school. Her guest lecture on the evolution of dance and its purpose in daily life was accentuated with her dance performances. The students were awestruck by her lecture demonstration. The event culminated with a standing ovation by the audience.

The National Dance Day was a success, as there were many participants who participated in the celebration. There was a guest lecture by Yeshada Thakore. She taught us many things and she told stories using her experienced dance skills.

The National Dance Day we celebrated at Oakridge International School, Einstein Campus on Monday, August 2 2011 was spectacular. I, being a participant, enjoyed practicing and performing in front of my fellow students. The guest speaker, Ms. Yeshada Thakore, was very inspiring and a big hit with the student body. Huge thanks to Krishna Ma’am and Sylaja Ma’am for organizing such a wonderful event. Krishna Ma’am was brilliant with creating such a beautiful dance.
